Sunflower Community Credit Union

About This Project

Sunflower Community Credit Union wanted to create a space that felt like home for their members. This mission was accomplished through the design of a new commercial space with an inviting, home aesthetic. The exterior has residential scale windows, columns and dormer windows that reinforce the neighborhood feel. On the interior, the lobby is filled with indirect light from clerestory windows above. A fireplace and living room seating arrangement provide a place for credit union members to rest, visit and enjoy the space. Teller stations are staggered and separated for privacy with windows similar in scale and proportion to those on the exterior. A space for children to safely play in view of their parents is available next to the lobby.

Offices feature large sliding barn doors with glass panels to maintain long sight lines and view of the teller stations to enhance security. All offices, as well as the conference room have windows for natural light and views to the surrounding business community. A large, back-lit sunflower placed near the gable, windmill ceiling fans and custom designed street signage reinforce the Sunflower Community Credit Union brand.
